One library, six live channels
Alshabaka is Al-Iraqiya’s streaming platform, built for web, mobile and TV. Viewers browse Iraqi movies, series, TV shows and recorded theatre by category, pick up where they left off, and save what they want to watch later. A live section carries the national channels — public, news, Kurdish, Turkmen, Syriac and sports — and a separate music side plays Iraqi artists from its own library.

The front page leads with a full-bleed hero for whatever is worth opening tonight — synopsis, year, rating, and Play Now with save and like beside it. Underneath, Keep watching picks up every unfinished episode exactly where it stopped.

Browse by shape, not by search
All, Series, Movie and TV Show narrow the whole library from a single row of chips. New Releases runs the newest Iraqi key art across the top, and Discover turns the genres — drama, comedy, documentary, religious, music programmes — into something you can point at instead of type.

Seasons, episodes, and what to watch next
A title opens on its trailer with the synopsis over it and Play S1 - Ep 1 ready to go. Season, Details and Similar split everything else, the season switcher swaps the episode grid beneath them, and the originating channel keeps its badge in the corner.

Six national channels, always on
Live is a numbered dial of the six national channels — public, news, Kurdish, Turkmen, Syriac and sport — each keeping its own on-air identity in the list. Pick one and it plays full frame, the broadcast’s own live badge and scorebug included.

An Iraqi library, not a playlist
The music side is its own product: a Music and Video toggle, artwork, transport and scrubber through the middle, and the full queue down the right — Reda Al-Khayat, Saadoun Jaber, Nadhum Al-Ghazali and the rest of the catalogue, with runtimes.

One product, three ways in
Web
A pointer, a keyboard and enough room for the sidebar to stay open beside a full rail of posters.
Mobile
The same library one thumb deep, with the sidebar traded for a bottom bar and the hero cropped to portrait.
TV
A ten-foot layout driven by five buttons on a remote, where focus has to be obvious from across the room.
Ali delivered the full Alshabaka platform, the web, mobile, and TV apps, bringing Al-Iraqiya’s content to every screen. He handled the whole build and stayed on it until launch.
What I did on it
Product & navigation
One sidebar carrying an on-demand library, six live channels and a music player, without any of the three feeling bolted onto the other two.
Interface design
A dark system built around Arabic type and full-bleed key art, so the chrome stays legible over whatever poster happens to load behind it.
Web, mobile and TV
Three surfaces with three different input models — pointer, thumb, and a five-button remote — driven off one product.
Playback
An on-demand player, a live channel switcher and an audio player, sharing one set of controls and one idea of what play means.
